Annie Coe truly has a heart of gold. For those of you that don’t know her, she is the owner of Cupcaked, a local bakery that brings the most decadent desserts and sweets to all. Annie’s shop does more than feed our sugar cravings; she also has helped couples from all over turn their wedding dreams into reality.

As most know, the COVID19 crisis has forced many couples to reschedule their big day, which has led to an influx in emotions during an already stressful time. When we heard about our friend Annie Coe putting together care packages (at no cost) to those couples who were facing these difficult circumstances, we had to get the scoop!

Check out the interview!

ECC: What’s included in the package?
Annie Coe: In our package, we have offered a slice of one of our dessert bars, a combination of three truffles, two vanilla macarons and some sweet royal iced cookies that wish them safety and health during this time!

ECC: What inspired you to take this approach?
Annie Coe: Weddings are my jam. It is one of the main reasons I opened the bakery - to make one of the most important parts of a couple’s big day completely customized to them. I love being creative and so many of my couples give me freedom within their theme for their wedding. When this quarantine started, my couples were the first people on my mind. Wedding planning is already such a stressful time and adding this on, is just unimaginable. Not knowing if one of the most anticipated days of your life will get to happen the way you planned has just got to be devastating. So I just thought sending them a little pick-me-up during this time was such an important thing to do. Just to let them know I am thinking of them and offer a little support.

ECC: How has the response been from your couples?
Annie Coe: Honestly, the majority of my couples have reached out to thank me and say that it has been such an encouraging gesture and that it has been the highlight of their quarantine.

ECC: What message are you giving to those couples who have had to reschedule their wedding in response to COVID19?
Annie Coe: The message I would give them is to keep the most important part of a wedding in the view - the person they chose to spend their life with. Yes, you may not be able to have your wedding on the date you planned, but you still get to spend the rest of your life with your best friend. Just try to focus on ANY good aspect of your relationship right now. The rest will fall into place when it is safe. ❤

ECC: How has COVID19 affected you and your business?
Annie Coe: Oh man, well we did decide to close our doors out of the safety of the public and my staff. I am using this time to reflect on our future. What works, what didn’t and what we can improve upon. I truly think this is going to make my entire business better in the long run, but it is extremely scary not knowing when the end of this quarantine will really be. Personally though, I am doing so much personal development and I am looking at this personally as well as how I want to shape my future!

ECC: What are you doing to make the best out of these times?
Annie Coe: We have re-opened our online website - with shipped items going out every Tuesday and curbside pickups every Saturday! We have so many cute items and little pick me up boxes that you can ship to your loved ones nationwide and especially for all of our mothers this Mother’s Day! We have had to become very creative during these times and I truly love the excitement over every idea we come up with as a team.
