Fishing in Cattaraugus County has been ranked as some of the best in North America by several fishing publications.

From the Cattaraugus Creek in the north to the Allegheny River in the south, and all points in between, the 15 lakes, 150 rivers and streams and 5 reservoirs will provide endless excitement for anglers of all ages.

Cattaraugus County boasts of great fishing for species such as Brown, Rainbow and Brook Trout, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Muskie, and Steelhead, among many others.

Fishing in public waters require New York State Department of Environmental Conservation license, which can be purchased at town and village clerk offices. Each species of fish also carries size and season restrictions.
